House Democrats Vote to Prevent Police From Stopping Cars Operated By Pot Smokers

Today, during debate, I offered several amendments to make our roadways safer, including one that would ALLOW police to pull over drivers they believe are smoking cannabis.

Believe it or not, state law actually PREVENTS police from stopping drivers they ACTUALLY SEE smoking weed. It makes NO sense - to me at least. Apparently the Majority Party believes it does though, as they defeated the proposition.

Whether you call it cannabis, marijuana, pot, or weed, in my opinion, it does NOT belong on our roads.
