House Democrats Vote Against Protecting Children From Pot Smoke In Cars

Last night, during the House debate, I ran an amendment that would have ALLOWED police officers to stop drivers who are smoking pot WITH CHILDREN IN THE CAR. Believe it or not, presently they cannot.

I, for one, believe that it is significantly harmful for children to be "force exposed" to marijuana smoke. Apparently the Majority Party has no problem with this, as they defeated the item.

Whether you call it cannabis, marijuana, pot, or weed, in my opinion, it does NOT belong on our roads, ESPECIALLY when children are involved.

You can read the amendment here: https://www.cga.ct.gov/.../H/pdf/2024HB-05500-R00HC-AMD.pdf
