Catalytic Converter Bill Passes

Tonight, we passed SB 256 (a bill that went through both the Public Safety Committee, and the Judiciary Committee) to tackle the incredible increase of catalytic converter theft by prohibiting scrap yards and recyclers from accepting them unless attached to a vehicle or marked with an identifiable stock number. The legislation also requires scrap dealers to keep detailed records.
